How to play the flag quiz
Press Start quiz and a flag appears with four country names. Tap the country the flag belongs to, or press keys 1 to 4 on a keyboard. The correct answer is highlighted in green after every guess, together with the country's capital, so each wrong answer still teaches you something. Choose a 10 or 20 question round, or play Endless mode, where you keep going until you make three mistakes.
Choose a continent and difficulty
Use the continent buttons to practise one region at a time: Africa (54 flags), Asia, Europe, North America including the Caribbean, South America and Oceania. The wrong options are taken from the same continent wherever possible, so you cannot guess just by knowing which part of the world a flag looks like it comes from. Easy starts with famous flags, Hard keeps only the tricky ones.
Tips to learn world flags faster
- Learn families of flags. Many West African flags use the pan-African red, yellow and green; many Arab flags use red, white, black and green; Nordic countries share the off-centre cross.
- Look for one detail. Chad and Romania are almost identical, as are Monaco and Indonesia, so this quiz never shows those pairs together; in real life, note proportions and shades.
- Short rounds every day beat one long session. Play one 10-question round per continent and watch your best score grow.
- Say the capital out loud when it appears after each answer; linking flag, name and capital makes all three stick.

Frequently asked questions
How many flags are in this flag quiz?
All 193 United Nations member states plus Vatican City, 194 flags in total. You can play all of them or filter by continent.
What is the difference between Easy and Hard?
Easy uses flags of large or very well-known countries. Hard uses only the less familiar flags, which is where most players lose points.
Why do I see two letters instead of a flag?
Flags are drawn with your device's emoji font. Phones, Macs and most Linux systems show them; some Windows PCs show the two-letter country code instead.
Does the quiz work offline?
Yes. After the first visit the page is cached on your device, so you can keep playing without internet.
Is my score saved?
Your best score for each settings combination is saved in your browser's local storage only. Nothing is sent to a server.
